General Dentistry

General dentistry includes a wide range of treatment options and procedures essential to preserving and improving oral health. A variety of treatments are available to maintain your mouth, gums, and teeth healthy and pain-free. The following are some of the services provided by our general dentistry that are essential to your dental health:

Gum Treatment

“Periodontics is a branch of dentistry that focuses on the supporting structures that surround the teeth, as well as the diseases and treatments that impact them. The gums, the jaw bone, the cementum that attaches the tooth to the jaw bone, and the periodontal ligament that maintains the tooth in place to the jaw bone are all supporting structures.

Periodontists are highly qualified dentists that specialize in this field. Our periodontists spend a significant amount of time treating and preventing gum disease. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss, but many patients ignore their gums until it’s too late. Gum disease is curable and preventative, which is excellent news. It takes very little time to establish and maintain proper dental hygiene, yet it can make a significant difference in your health. Healthy gums and teeth have been linked to overall health and well-being, so taking care of your gums can have a significant impact.”

Fillings

“We only use tooth coloured resin composite materials for our patients. We believe that we should not only fulfill the functional requirement, but also restoring the natural appearance of your teeth.

White (composite) fillings are made out of powdered glass and ceramic added to a resin base, which comes out to a shade of white which matches your teeth. These blend in with your smile seamlessly, so you hardly know they are even there. Metallic amalgam fillings can be highly noticeable when you grin or laugh, causing patients anxiety and prohibiting them from exposing too much of their mouths.
White fillings are made to match the color of your teeth, fitting in flawlessly and seeming to be a natural tooth. Fillings, unlike more time-consuming dental treatments like dental implants and veneers, can be completed the same day you visit your dentist.”

Inlay and Onlay

Inlays and onlays are indirect dental restorations that can help a tooth with a large filling. Inlays are inserted between the cusps (points) of a tooth’s cusps, whereas onlays are placed between the cusps and over the cusp tips. Old filings can be replaced with inlays and onlays, which are more aesthetically acceptable because they can be fashioned to match a tooth’s natural color. Inlays and onlays, in addition to improving the aesthetic of a tooth, can also reinforce the structure of a tooth due to their resilience and lifespan.

Crowns

Teeth can be severely damaged by accidents or decay, but there is a way to restore a tooth so that it looks as good as new. When a tooth filling or an inlay isn’t enough, a dental crown is used to cover the entire tooth. Dental crowns can be made from a wide variety of materials, and zirconium crowns are more natural looking because they keep their integrity with the gums for several years. It also has light-passing characteristics that give it the closest appearance to a natural tooth. We believe that we should not only fulfill the functional requirement, but also restoring the natural appearance of your teeth.

Tooth Extraction

“When a tooth needs to be completely removed from the mouth, a general dentist can do it promptly and painlessly. Despite the fact that tooth extraction is a regular treatment, many dentists will only do it if it is absolutely essential. This is due to the fact that a lost tooth might lead to other issues later in life. For example, the teeth may slip out of place. A dental prosthesis, such as an implant, bridge, or crown, will then be used to replace the missing tooth.”
